Obituary

Julia Louella Pipkin Turner, age 76, of Wallace passed from this earthly home to her eternal rest on Friday, March 4, 2011 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 22, 1934 in Pamlico County and was the daughter of the late Alvin Lafayette and Annie Boyd Pipkin. She was predeceased by her husband, Jackson Aman Turner and her sons, Jackson Aman Turner, Jr. and Chris "Buddy" Turner.

Surviving are her devoted children, Marie Smithwick and husband, Weck of Oriental, Clara Teachey and husband, Billy of Wallace and David Turner and wife, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Georgette Turner of Beulaville; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Dartha Wooten of Grantsboro and Brenda Parsons and husband, Bill of Oriental.

Julia was caring mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family dearly. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. Being a strong, yet gentle lady she was loved by all who were blessed to know her. Cherished memories of Julia will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Monday, March 7, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 8:00 pm on Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Billy and Clara Teachey.

Burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday at James Cemetery in Pin Hook.
