Karen Denise Singleton Pugh, 65, of Rocky Point entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her home.

She was born February 4, 1956 in Durham, the daughter of Thomas E. Singleton and Novella James Singleton Mitchell. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Peake.

Karen is survived by her life partner, Laura Powell; sister, Deborah "Debbie" Jackson and husband, Edward; brother, Ronnie Ross Singleton; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Karen was a loving, caring, and giving lady with a heart of gold. She was a big fan of the Tar Heels college basketball team. Enjoying God's bountiful world of nature all birds and animals were near and dear to Karen's heart. Most of all Karen loved her family. Karen's presence in our daily life will surely be missed.
