Katharine "Katie" Bishop Horrell, age 67, of Atkinson died Monday, March 30, 2009 at home.

She was born August 26, 1941 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Grace Bishop.

Surviving are her devoted husband of forty-four years, Phil Horrell of the home; sister-in-law, Marcia Scaggs and her husband, Bob, of North Augusta, South Carolina; and step-sister, Lucy C. Watson of Evansville, Indianna.

Mrs. Horrell worked at International Nickel Company at Wrightsville Beach for many years.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Woodcock Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Brewton and the Rev. Douglas Warnock officiating.

To Katie's many friends and the entire community, Phil would like to thank you for every kindness shown - prayers, visits, food, cards, and flowers during Katie's battle with cancer. We thank God for the gift of friends and pray His eternal blessings to all.
