Katherine Anne Shelton Shepherd, 75, of Raleigh, NC left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Sunday, August 1, 2021.

She was born on July 12, 1946 in Richmond VA; the daughter of the late William Baxter and Eleanor Dees Shelton.

Surviving are her children, Joshua Shepherd and wife, Wendy of Clayton and Shannon S. Amidon and husband, Andrew of Carlsbad, Ca; grandchildren, Raegan Shepherd, Addison Shepherd and Emily Amidon and many extended family and friends that knew and loved Katherine.

Kathy was a loving mother and caring grandmother who loved her family dearly.  She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty, and grace.  With a big heart, Kathy served others by helping to care for children while working with Division of Child Development. Making sure children were taken care of was very important to Kathy and she enjoyed being a part of this service.   Kathy was an avid dog lover.  She loved them so much she would identify them as her children and grandchildren.  Kathy loved the beach. She enjoyed a family trip to Kitty Hawk and always enjoyed reminiscing about it.  It was one of her most favorite places.  Most of all Kathy loved her family and they brought her the most joy. Kathy will surely be missed but she will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
