Kathleen "Kat" Sholar Blanton, age 77, of Wallace died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Blanton was born July 20, 1931 in Duplin County and was the youngest of five siblings to the late Perry Exum and Lillie Blanton Sholar. She was also predeceased by her husband, Bruce M. Blanton, Sr., brothers, Willie Exum "Bill" Sholar, Raleigh "Tootsie" Sholar and Daniel Sholar.

She was a four year graduate of Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC and a member of Willard PFWB Church. Kathleen loved her Lord, her family and her church. She will be missed very much by those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her children; Donna B. Murray and husband, Howard, Jr., Gail B. Murray and friend, Will Boyette, all of Wallace, Bruce M. Blanton, Jr., and wife, Cheryl of Rocky Point and Meloney Hardison and husband, Kevin of Albertson; six granddaughters; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Annie Helen Rivenbark and husband, Johnnie Clarence of Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Friday, October 3, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Rodney Bonham officiating.

Graveside service will be Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

The family will receive friends Friday evening immediately following the funeral service until 8:00 pm at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wallace.
