Dianne was born in Fairmont, West Virginia and spent her early years in Mannington and St. Marys, West Virginia. She lived most of her adult life in North Carolina, raising her family in Apex and later residing in Clinton and Burgaw. Dianne had a special gift for working with children. She graduated cum laude from Meredith College with a B.A. in psychology and received her Master's in Psychology from North Carolina Central University.
Mystery novels and travel were favorite hobbies, and Dianne took each of her five lucky grandchildren on a trip to any destination in the world upon their thirteenth birthday.
Dianne was preceded in death by Maxine and John Lawlis, who were so much more than aunt and uncle to her; grandparents, Samuel and Martha Yoho; father, Martin Yoho; mother, Billie Lawlis; and brother, Charles Lawlis.
She is survived by her son, Jim Wilson and wife Beth of Cary, North Carolina; daughter, Ann Sapp and husband, Bill of Greensboro, North Carolina; sisters, Ann Maston of St. Marys, West Virginia and Susie Clark (Garry) of Belmont, West Virginia; brother, Sam Yoho of St. Marys, West Virginia and grandchildren, Baxter Sapp, Edward Sapp, Mary Kathryn Sapp, Daniel Wilson and Sam Wilson.
