Kathy June Torrans Decker, age 38, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from her residence.

She was born June 18, 1972 in Duplin County and was the daughter of Margaret Heyer Torrans of Rose Hill and the late Thomas Kenan Torrans.

Surviving in addition to her mother is her loving husband of 20 years, Steve Decker of the home; children, Michael Decker and Cassidy Decker, both of the home; step children, Brandon Decker of Wallace and Morgan Decker of Wilmington; sisters, Norma Hawkins and good friend, Rock Powell of Magnolia, Patricia Turner and husband, Michael of Rose Hill and Mary Susan Johnson and husband, Kevin of Cameron; special friend, Dallas Earl Jones, Jr. of Rose Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in Rose Hill with the Reverend Brian Doles officiating.

Kathy was a devoted wife and caring mother, daughter and sister. She found great joy in the simplest things, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. To know Kathy was to love her for she brought out the best in those whose lives she touched. Kathy will certainly be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Kathy's family would like to extend special thanks for all the love, prayers and support during Kathy's illness and especially to the staff of Community Home Care & Hospice Care Center of Sampson County for the love and compassion they showed to Kathy and her family.
