Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Rothweiler, age 64, went to Glory Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington where he was surrounded by family with love.

He was born February 26, 1959 in Richmond, Virginia, the son of Ronald James Rothweiler and Frances Nightengale Wharam.

Kenny is survived by the Love of his life, Pam Rooks; daughters, Shelby Rothweiler, Melisa Matthews, and Melinda Lippard (Jacob); son, Chris Lockett (Kelli); ten grandchildren;  sister, Sandra Rutherford; brother, Ronnie Rothweiler; and several nieces and nephews. Not to be forgotten is Kenny's faithful canine companion, Rudy.

Kenny was blessed with musical talents and a true love of music. He enjoyed singing in church choirs, singing Karaoke with his Moose Lodge No. 343 buddies, and most of all playing his drums and cymbals. He was a lifelong drummer and could make those bells and drums rock. In years past Kenny was a dirt track race car driver. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always a pleasure to be around. Most of all Kenny loved his family and enjoyed family time. His presence will be missed in our family circle and in our hearts.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Riley's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery – Rooks Section with the Rev. Kenneth Smith conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
