Kevin Ray McGirt, 47, of Wilmington, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Kevin was born on January 8, 1976, in Wilmington to Margaret McGirt and the late Jeffery McGirt.

Kevin enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and woodworking. He was a bright light to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret McGirt; sister, Crystal McGirt; brother, Jeffrey McGirt; grandmother, Bertha Permenter-McIntosh; nieces, Kayla, Isabella, and Iliza McGirt; nephew, Isaiah McGirt; and many other family members and friends.

In addition to his father, Kevin was also preceded in death by his sister, Sybil McGirt Green.

The visitation will be 6 – 8 pm Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington. Kevin's funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Retta Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington.
