Kimberly Ann Baltezegar Scott, 45, of Castle Hayne passed peacefully from her earthly life to her heavenly home Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
She was born September 4, 1966 in Wilmington, the beloved daughter of Walter Franklin and Frances Hardison Baltezegar of Wilmington. In addition to her parents Kimberly leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Christopher "Chris" Benjamin Scott of the home; brothers, Keith Baltezegar (Kimberly) of Wilmington and Brent Baltezegar of Leland; special nieces, Alexandra and Savannah Baltezegar; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Betty Scott; brother-in-law, Mark Scott; extended family; her Northside Baptist Church family and many friends.
Kimberly loved with all of her heart and her radiant smile brightened the life of everyone she knew. She was a devoted wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, and friend. Filled with kindness, compassion, joy and laughter, Kimberly welcomed everyone she met into her wide circle of extended family members and friends. She was a gift to this world and loved by so many. For the past two years Kimberly's Christian faith and courage has sustained her as she fought a valiant battle with ovarian cancer. Kimberly truly leaves a legacy of faith, love and hope. Kimberly's family is grateful for all acts of kindness and prayers that have lent them support during her illness. We thank God, our Heavenly Father, for the gift of family and friends and pray His eternal blessings to all.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Northside Baptist Church with the Pastor Kenny Chinn officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Casketbearers will be Linwood Lewis, Kendale Potter, Eric Young, Mickey Easterling, Harold Spencer and Dwayne Eakins.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Northside Baptist Church in Wilmington and at other times at 6401 Grandview Dr. in Castle Hayne.
Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401 or to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 2501 N College Rd., Wilmington, NC 20405.
Kimberly's family would like to thank Dr. Walter Gajewski, staff of Zimmer Cancer Center, 2nd floor staff of Betty Cameron Women's Center and staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the compassionate and excellent care given to Kimberly during her illness.
