Kirby Daughtry, age 74, of Britthaven of Northchase and formerly of Long Creek Community died Monday, September 17, 2007 at Britthaven of Northchase.

He was born November 27, 1932 in Duplin County, the son of the late William H. and Agnes Crews Daughtry. He was also predeceased by his son, Ronald Wade Daughtry; brothers, Clarence, Hoover and Odell Daughtrey; and sister, Clara Karlinsky.

Mr. Daughtry retired from Ideal Cement Company January 1, 1984.

Surviving are his devoted wife of fifty-five years, Dorothy Woodcock Daughtry; children, Patricia D. Kidd and her husband, Robert of Wilmington, Kirby Eugene Daughtry of Long Creek and Connie Anne Daughtry of Winnabow; grandchildren, Jonathan Kidd and Kimberlee Kidd; and sister, Tressie Moore.

Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Woodcock Cemetery, Rooks Rd., Atkinson with the Rev. Earl Barrow Officiating.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw and also at 1:00 p.m. following the graveside service on Thursday at Britthaven of Northchase.
