Lacy Floyd Corbett, age 85, left his earthly life for his eternal rest on Saturday, June 1, 2024 in Wilmington.

He was born July 14, 1938 in Wilmington, the son of Floyd Willie Corbett and Carnie Mae Woodcock Corbett. In addition to his parents Lacy was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Moore.

Lacy is survived by his son, Timmy Corbett and wife, Lisa; daughters, Melissa "Missy" Prosser and husband, Chris and Ashley Corey and husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Gabby Corbett, Preston Corbett, Tiffany Prosser, Christopher Prosser, Cody Blackburn, Ari Corey, and Delaney Corey; two great grandchildren; sister, Huelva Dale Corbett; and many nieces and nephews. Not to be forgotten is Lacy's four legged companion, Wendy, who misses Lacy every day.

After working 20 plus years Lacy retired from Wright Chemical. Lacy began a second career in the trucking industry by hauling timber products with his own truck.

In years past Lacy took time out of his busy schedule to find pleasure and relaxation in  both hunting and fishing. Most recently he could be found sitting on his front porch chatting with family and friends. Lacy loved his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them, especially the younger grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Atkinson Cemetery where he will be buried with family. The Rev. William Moore will conduct the service.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

Special thanks to Lacy's sister, Huelva, for sharing her time and assistance in helping Lacy, especially during the last several years. Also, the family would like to thank Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center staff, emergency room staff and Pender County EMS and Fire for the excellent care given to their loved one, Lacy.

His family requests that in lieu of flowers those wishing to honor Lacy's memory consider a donation in his name to Atkinson Cemetery, c/o Sara Jane Lanier, 6060 Point Caswell Road, Atkinson, NC 28421.
