Larry Douglas Jones, 52, of Burgaw passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at his home.

He was born April 6, 1961 in Guilford County, the son of the late Joey A. and Jeannine Hutsell Jones. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Jones.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Barbara K. Jones; step-son, Scotty E. Campbell (Charlsie) of Troy; sister-in-law, Terry Jones of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry retired as a Sergeant with Guilford County Sheriff Department after working for 20 years.

Larry was a wonderful husband. He and Barbara loved and cared for his dog, Kobi and their many cats. Larry created works of art with his Bonsai trees and he also enjoyed bead work; making many striking necklaces and bracelets. He was a quiet, caring man who above all else loved his family and his animals. Fond memories of Larry will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held in Greensboro at a later date.
