Larry Ogden, age 80 of Willard departed his earthly life Friday, May 26, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington. Larry was born in Allentown, PA on February 18, 1943 and is the son of the late Richard and Mildred Ogden. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda and their son Todd Ogden.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Kim Longenbach; daughter–in–law, Holly Yopp and husband Ron; grandchildren, Nate Longenbach and his wife Sarah, Matt, and Rebecca Longenbach, Rachel Claybrook and husband Myles, Aaron Ogden, Emily Somers and husband Bill, Paige Midgett and husband Bryan; great – grandchildren, Luke Longenbach and Makena Midgett; brother David Ogden and his wife Donna; fiancé, Victoria Strachan and many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.

Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  Larry loved his Lord and was an active member in his church of Riley's Creek Baptist Church in Rocky Point,  where he enjoyed worshiping and serving in his church. Larry retired in 2006 from General Electric in Castle Hayne. During his days off and especially in retirement enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as oil painting. He was a very talented artist who also enjoyed music and traveling. He will be missed terribly by his family and friends and will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Larry will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Quinn-McGowen Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Art Sauer officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM–1:00 PM prior to the service. Internment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
