She was born March 5, 1929 in Duplin County, the daughter of the late Winford Albert Young and Melva Lucy Register Young Robinson. She was also predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Vernon Roberson Cavenaugh, Sr. and son, George Gaylor Cavenaugh.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving children, Vernon Cavenaugh, Melva Grace Parker and husband, Ronnie and Ann Cavenaugh, all of Wallace; grandchildren, Shanon Ray Cavenaugh, Adam Jerome Cavenaugh (Anh), Amanda Smith Cavenaugh, George Michael Cavenaugh (Emily), Gregory Allen Cavenaugh (Julie) and Sabrina Grace Cottle (Chris); great grandchildren, Dalton Ray Cavenaugh, Cortney Lynn Cavenaugh, Asher Roberson-Hoa Cavenaugh, Michael Grant Farabee, Mollie Kate Cavenaugh, Joshua Braedon Cottle and Lauren Grace Cottle; great-great grandchildren, Savannah Nicole Farabee, Kaylee Lynn Farabee and Colton Louis Farabee; brother, Wayne Robinson, Sr. and numerous relatives and friends.

Grace was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace; and to those who knew her, "an instrument of God's love on this earth." Grace enjoyed flowers and cooking. She took great pride in baking her delicious chocolate pies and deserts at Christmas time. To know Grace was to love her, She was a lady in every sense of the word. Everyone who knew Grace knew she was a dedicated Christian and her life was an example to everyone around her. She will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever remain in our hearts.
