Laura Estelle Wall Connolly, age 79, of Wilmington passed away after a decade-long courageous battle with neurodegenerative brain disease on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
She was born December 1, 1937 in Atkinson County, Georgia the daughter of the late Coleman Wall and Birta Keaton Wall.
Laura has been bed bound since Mother's Day of last year. She was able to stay in her home due to the dedication of her family. Laura was cared for during the day by her angel in disguise, Barbara Grady and at night by her devoted husband, Tom Connolly. On Monday, May 15, 2017 she entered the care of Lower Cape Fear Hospice and their wonderful care was able to minimize her discomfort and pain.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tom Connolly of Wilmington; son, Michael Connolly and wife Amy of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Sherri Ingle and husband Gene; two grandsons, PT Ingle and Davis Ingle all of Wilmington; and numerous other loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Laura's Life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Quinn McGowen Wilmington Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington NC 28401.
