Laura Kaye Rich Conway, 63, of Wallace passed away on Wednesday, August 10th, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born on August 20, 1952 in Bladen County and was the daughter of Melburn B. Rich, Sr. of Wallace and the late Ola Hester Rich. She was also predeceased by her best friend and canine companion, "Buster" .
Surviving, in addition to her father, is her brother, Melburn B. "Mel" Rich, Jr. and wife, Shirley of Willard; niece, Olivia Rich Herndon and husband, Phillip and their son, Luke Herndon of Wilmington; nephew, Richie Rich and wife, Lauren, of Wilmington; special friends, Nancy Brice of Castle Hayne and Doris Ann Farrior of Wallace; special canine companions of the family, "Deacon" and "Harley" and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kaye was a devoted daughter and caring sister and aunt who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed yard sales and antique hunting with her friend Nancy. Being very artistic, Kaye had a real talent in decorating cakes, candies and houses. With a big heart and compassionate spirit, Kaye took great care of her Daddy for the past few years. She loved animals, especially her faithful canine companion, "Buster". Kaye will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Russ Evans officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday immediately following the service until 4:00pm at the funeral home.
