Lawrence "LP" Paul Register, age 72, of Wilmington, NC passed away on April 2, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on November 16, 1950 in Clinton, NC to the late Colin Register and Lila Blackburn Register.

LP was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Wilmington where he worked in Junior Church and the Bus Ministry for many years. He was a hard worker who enjoyed travelling. LP also loved antiques and antiquing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. LP was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and faithful friend who will be dearly missed.

LP is survived by his wife, Sherri Johnson Register; son, Robert Matthew Register (Justine); siblings, John "Buddy" Register (Alma), Ann Bean (David), and Joyce McClees; grandchildren, Oliver P. Register and Cora L. Register; and many other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10am with Pastor Jay Knolls officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Turkey, NC.
