LCpl Michael Anand Somaru, 21, of Wilmington passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Satyendra "Stanley" Singh.

Michael is survived by his wife Erin N. Somaru of the home, parents George and Ramona Somaru of Michigan, formerly of San Diego, CA, brother Christopher Somaru, sisters Jennifer Somaru and Rhiannon Rosell and husband Mike, all of California, one niece, three nephews, father in law and mother in law Daniel and Sharon Jones, of Thomasville, NC, and his beloved dog Bo.

Michael was a loving husband. He loved the ocean, enjoyed walking his dog Bo on the beach and loved fishing. Michael was a Communications Marine for 3 years and had hopes of getting into Law Enforcement. He was stationed at Stone Bay at Sneads Ferry.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home where a funeral will begin at 11:00 am Friday, November 21, 2014. Interment Wilmington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider bringing a new unwrapped toy which will be donated to Toys for Tots.
