Lee Huffman Nicholson, age 81, of Wallace died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Milford & Reba Quinn Hospice Care Center in Kenansville.

He was born February 18, 1930 in Lincolnton, NC and was the son of the late Roy Stephen and Ethel Macy Nicholson.

Mr. Nicholson served his country honorably in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Marianne Dannell Nicholson of the home; his children, Claudia Jean Nicholson and husband, Michael Salzberg of St Paul, Minnesota, Mark Stephen Nicholson and wife, Kate Albright of Danville, Virginia, Donna Marie Nicholson and husband, Brett Crawley of Wallace and Jacqueline "Jackie" Eve Nicholson of Wallace; grandchildren, Marianne Dannell Salzberg, Marshall Thomas Crawley and Allison Marie Crawley and brother, Roy Stephen Nicholson, Jr. and wife, Carol of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Nicholson was a beloved husband and caring father, grandfather and brother. He was loved and respected by those who knew him and will truly be missed.

Memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel. Following the service there will be a time of visitation and sharing also at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Milford and Reba Quinn Hospice Care Center for their compassion, care and support during Mr. Nicholson's illness and passing.
