Leon Andrew "Andy" Mixon, 80, of Wallace passed from his earthly life on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Day Spring Assisted Living in Wallace.
He was born February 7, 1935 in Dade County Florida, the son of the late Leon C. and Geneva Parrish Mixon.
Leon served proudly in the US Army. He had a great love for animals and many will remember that Leon managed a boarding kennel for a number of years in Pender County. In his younger years he coached Little League ball teams. He was a quiet, humble man with a gentle laughter.
He is survived by his son, Brian L. Mixon of Medway, Massachusetts.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Riverview Memorial Park.
