Lester Lee Dennis, age 67, of Rocky Point passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at new Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 7, 1944 in Pender County, the son of the late Robert Telmore and Annie Jewell Wells Dennis. Also remembered are his wife, Betty Dennis and brother, Tommy Dennis both who preceded Lester in death.
Lester is survived by his wife, Connie Lawson Dennis; sister, Annie Grace Pridgen of Rocky Point; brothers, John T. Dennis (Kathy) of Rocky Point and Murle Dennis (Wanda) of Concord; grandchildren, Brandy Roberts Meadows (Tim) of Charlotte, Summer Mills and Scott Mills both of Hampstead; and many nephews and nieces including, Tammie Gurganious.
Lester loved his family, was diligent worker and took good care of his family. His career of being an excellent professional truck driver spanned many years. In years past Lester enjoyed hunting and fishing in God's beautiful waters and woods. Through the years Lester helped to raise several children, having a positive influence on their lives. Cherished memories of Lester will always remain in our hearts.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Butler Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw and at other times will be at the home of Annie Grace Pridgen in Rocky Point.
