Obituary

Lewis Kendall "Ken" House, 45, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. He is now in the arms of Jesus and seeing his family that had gone on before him.

Ken was born in Person Co., NC on September 7, 1971, the son of Jennifer Hatcher House Martin and the late Duane House. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Willie Marshall Hatcher and an uncle, Paul Hatcher.

He owned his own business in Wilmington for several years detailing cars and worked with numerous other local dealerships in the area. He will be truly missed by his wife, children, mother, sister, and all of his other relatives and so many friends that he made in his lifetime. Ken was one of the kindest people who walked the Earth, his generosity and compassion led him to assist anyone in need, he even gave his sister the gift of life by donating his kidney. He enjoyed spending time on the water fishing, loved corvettes and watching insane television shows.

Most of all his family was the most important thing in his life. They especially loved him for his quick wit and the way he made them all laugh with his unique sense of humor.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 15 years, Tanya House, his children, Nathan Ely and Emmalie House all of Burgaw, NC; his mother, Jennifer H. Martin and husband, Seth of Wilmington, NC; sister, Kelly House Long and husband, Glenn of Hampstead, NC and their children Keegan and Katelynn Long; his maternal grandmother, Nannie Wilson Hatcher of Wilmington, NC; mother-in-law, Darlene Ely and companion, Ivan Bouchard; sister-in-law, Melissa Farmer and husband, Dave and nephew, Brian Graham; lifetime friend, Jim Balkcum; his precious and faithful Yorkie, Brownie; and numerous loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2016 at Quinn McGowen Wilmington Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Wilmington Chapel. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to extend deepest appreciation to nurse, Shannon for her compassionate care over the last several months; Laronda, his Physical Therapist, the staff of the ED and STICU at New Hanover Regional Medical Center as well as Duke University Hospital for their attention and care.

Memorials may be made to a trust for Nathan and Emmalie.
