Lillian Marlene Coleman Powell, 68, of Hampstead and most recently lived in Leland with her daughter passed from her earthly life Thursday, August 19, 2021 at NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital.

She was born November 5, 1952 in Wilmington and was one of eight children born to   Joseph Arden Coleman and Mary Muriel Howard Coleman. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by five siblings.

Lillian is survived by her son, Steven Coleman and wife, Dawn; daughter, Tonya Coleman; grandson, Darrien Royal; sister, Delores Guthrie; brother, John Coleman; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Lillian along with her sister worked for many years as a seamstress at Century Mills. In her younger years she enjoyed working in her yard. Having a sharp intellect, Lillian was excellent with word games. She loved watching cooking shows, but always left the actual cooking to others. Lillian's quick wit and radiant smile will forever be remembered.
