Lillie Mae McQueen, age 83, of Pen-Du Rest Home, Wallace died Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 15, 1923 in Montgomery County and was the daughter of the late Bill and Romelia Hall McQueen.

Ms. McQueen has resided at Pen-Du Rest Home for the past thirty-five years and considered the Rest Home staff that lovingly cared for her and the residents that loved her to be her family.

Lillie Mae loved her church family and especially enjoyed Sunday worship services at the Rest Home. She was a people person who never met a stranger and took great pleasure in greeting all the folks that visited the Rest Home.

Graveside funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Henderson Family Cemetery, NC Hwy 50, Wallace with The Rev Randall Pearce and The Rev. Samuel Swinson officiating.
