Lina Whitworth Willard, 85, of Willard, passed from this earthly life to her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from Lower Cape Fear Hospice CareCenter.

She was born on March 1, 1934 in Gaston County. She was predeceased by her parents, numerous siblings, her husband, Caroll Willard and her son, Bruce Caroll Willard.

Mrs. Willard was a member of Potts Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Lisa Willard of Wilmington, Wendy Willard of Wilmington and Kamera Willard of Dallas, NC; great grandchildren, Terry Lucas, Aubrey McFarland and Gracie Oxendine; sister, Mary Ann Alstock of Gastonia and numerous extended family and friends that loved Lina dearly.

Lina was a special lady who loved her family dearly; especially her grandchildren.  She was an immaculate homemaker who believe that "cleanliness is next to godliness". With a heart of gold and a witty personality, Lina was a joy to be around.  She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren as if she was a child herself.  Being a lover of nature, Lina enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in her yard all during the day.  Being a good neighbor and friend, she was loved by all who knew her.  Lina will surely be missed but treasured memories of Lina will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Dr. William Goodnight officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 3:30pm at the funeral home.
