Linda Murray Fussell, age 59, of Burgaw died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.

She was born January 1, 1949 in Burgaw and was the daughter of Mary Miller Murray of Burgaw and the late Herbert Marcus Murray. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristina Fussell.

Mrs. Fussell was a faithful member of Mt. Holly Baptist Church.

Linda loved her family dearly and had such a generous spirit whether it was with family, friends or complete strangers. She counted it all joy to give abundantly of her time and talents. She loved family time, gardening, flowers, Bingo and being outdoors in God's beautiful world. Linda will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love and hope will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her beloved husband, Elwood M. Fussell of the home; children, Marc Fussell, Billy Fussell and Staci Barbee and her husband, Anthony, all of Burgaw; grandchildren, Angel Fussell, Krystal Fussell, Merrie Chesson and Aaron Chesson; one great granddaughter; brothers, Frank Murray of Tampa, FL, Ricky Murray of Willard, Larry Murray and wife, Dawn, and Raymond Murray all of Burgaw; sisters, Janice Harrell and her husband, Michael, and Connie Murray all of Burgaw; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Linda Hayes and Judy Drake.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor James Chesson officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Holly Baptist Church Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Barry Hayes, Jimmy Rivenbark, Allen Rivenbark, Ken Lee, Reuben Murray and Anthony Barbee.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
