Linwood Nash Costin, age 68, of Willard, died Tuesday, July 5, 2010 at Columbus Regional Health Care System in Whiteville.

He was born February 14, 1943 in Pender County and was the son of the late Arthur Costin and Jesse Justice Costin Wagstaff. He was predeceased by his brothers, Hal Costin and Bobby Costin and sister, Mary "Teeny" Costin.

Linwood leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Teresa Costin of Whiteville; his nephews, Ray Costin (Ellie), Robert Costin, Mike Costin (Lucille), Joey Costin (Ruth), Douglas Costin and Dale Costin; niece, Wanda Costin; sister-in-law, Doris Costin of St. Petersburg, Florida and his special canine companions, J.R., Susie and Bruiser.

Linwood was a loving father and caring uncle. He enjoyed the beauty of nature and the simplicity of living in the rural area of Pender Country. With a great sense of humor and gentle spirit, Linwood was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with Teresa, who was the "apple of his eye" and his special canine friends. Being a hard worker and never meeting a stranger, he made many friends along life's journey. Cherished memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Linwood.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, July 8, 2011 at Moore's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Eakins officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

Casketbearers will be Ray Costin, Mike Costin, Joey Costin, David Costin, Justin Costin and Nick Parker. Honorary bearer will be Sonny Parker.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
