Lloyd Allen Smith, age 69, of Willard died Monday, December 20, 2010 at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw.

Mr. Smith was born November 4, 1941 in Pender County and was the son of the late Ellis Woodrow and Ruby Padgett Smith. He was also predeceased by his sisters; Christine Smith, Connie Scronce and Marilyn Smith.

Surviving are his devoted wife of forty-nine years, Glenda Raynor Smith of the home; daughter, Regina Lettieri of Willard; son, Rodney Allen Smith and wife, Rose Marie of Magnolia and daughter, Teresa Manley of Wallace; grandchildren, Devan Lettieri, John Patrick Lettieri, Lisa Smith and Michael Paul Manley and great grandson, Amarie Smith.

Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend David Knowles officiating.

The family will receive friends 11:00 to 12:00 Noon Wednesday, one hour prior the funeral service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

Casketbearers will be Paul Strickland, Earl Matthews, Kendal Jones, Dwight Strickland, Patrick Artemisio and Res Southerland.

Lloyd found great joy in the simplest things, but his greatest joy was family, especially his grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. With a warm heart and kind spirit, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Cherished memories of Lloyd will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
