Lora Mae Jones Henderson joined her beloved husband, Cecil D. Henderson, Sr., in eternal rest on Friday, January 8, 2021, at the age of 92.  She was born February 11, 1928, in Pender County to Isaac Hassell and Flossie Meadows Jones.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is also predeceased by her sister, Chellie Lear; brother, Stuart Jones and grandson, Alex Henderson.

Lora is survived by her daughter, Jacki Humphrey (Raymond); sons, Cecil "C.D." Henderson Jr., Gerald Henderson (Becky), Albert Henderson and Greggory Henderson; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Nora Rivenbark and Josephine Robinson; sister-in-law, Sherrie Jones and many nieces, nephews and friends.

For many years, Lora was a faithful member of Maple Hill Baptist Church.

She found great joy in caring for her family and filled her home with laughter and love.  She enjoyed gardening and took the fruits of her labor to make delicious meals for her family and friends.  Adventurers at heart, she and Cecil found great joy in traveling in their younger years.  Fond memories of Lora will remain with all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Lanier and Meadows Cemetery, NC Hwy 53, Maple Hill, with the Rev Mickey Cox officiating.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.
