Loretta Lee Kane, 72, of Rocky Point passed peacefully Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.
She was born February 23, 1948 in East Islip, New York to Sidney Goldblum and Frances Miller Bracken. Also remembered are grandson, Brandon Kane; brother, Russell Goldblum; and step-mother who raised Loretta and her siblings, Edith Tracey, all preceded Loretta in death and loved her dearly.
Loretta is survived by her beloved family, her husband of 52 years, Erwin Lee Kane; sons, Korey Lee Kane and Christopher Lee Kane (Kim Jones); grandchildren, Kameron Kane, Ian Kane and Kelsey Kane; sisters, Sandra Burger (Ray) and Jamie Jecha (Brian); brother, Sidney Goldblum; many extended family and dear friends.
After retiring from K-Mart, Loretta worked three and one half years as a clerk and mail carrier for the US Postal Service where she made many friends along the way. She was a faithful member of Riley's Creek Baptist Church for 40 years where she was involved in many mission projects. She lived her life on Christian principles.
Loretta, a lady filled with compassion, caring and smiles, loved her family above all else. Being a devoted wife and a "mother hen" not only to her own boys, but to many other youths. Seven years ago, when Loretta was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer she doubled and tripled her Christian spirit of giving and sharing with others. Many remember and were recipients of her kind deeds. Loretta's sweet, sweet spirit is cherished and will live forever in our hearts.
Memorial service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Riley's Creek Baptist Church with The Rev. Art Sauer and The Rev. Melvin Hall conducting the service.
In lieu of flowers Loretta requested that memorial gifts in her honor and memory be given to Riley's Creek Baptist Church, 19845 NC Hwy 210, Rocky Point, NC 28425 or to Timber Ridge Treatment Center (a facility that was near and dear to Loretta's heart), 14225 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, NC 28071.
