Obituary

Louise Jones Cavenaugh, age 87, of Wallace, NC passed from this life to her eternal rest on Sunday, April 9, 2023.

She was born on October 8, 1936, in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Frank Jones and the late Mary Johnson Jones Gay.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Garland Cavenaugh; and her brothers, Marvin Jones and Franklin "Pan Handle" Jones.

Mrs. Cavenaugh attended Calvary Church (Wallace).

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Gail Cavenaugh Shebolam and husband Gene of Seattle, Washington, Vickie Cavenaugh Wells and husband, Stewart of Raeford, Steve Cavenaugh and wife Gail of Teachey, Ritchie Cavenaugh of Wallace, Ramona Cavenaugh Casteen and husband Greg of Wallace and Trina Goodwin and husband Bill of Wilmington. Louise was also blessed with fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends that loved her dearly.

Louise or Weezie as she was affectionately called,  was a loving mother and caring grandmother who considered her children, and grandchildren her 'Gems'.  She was a diligent homemaker and with a joyful spirit she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered.  Weezie was a people's person who never met a stranger.  She enjoyed being around people and going on Senior Trips together.  Because of her love for people, Louise enjoyed going to Walmart to see people more than to shop.  She would always find someone she knew there.  With a green thumb, Weezie  could make anything grow.  She enjoyed gardening whether it was vegetables or flowers.  Most of all Louise loved the Lord.  She lived her life based on Christian principles and instilled Christian values in her children. Always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.  Louise/Weezie will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
