Obituary

Louise Wells Murray, age 71, of Burgaw passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 17, 1940 in Duplin County, the daughter of the late Henry Z. Wells, Sr. and Annie Mae Knowles Wells. Also remembered are her brothers Henry Z. "Zeke" Wells, Jr. and James "Jay" Edward Wells and sister, Betty Wells Brown, all who preceded Louise in death.

Louise is survived by her loving family; her husband of 47 years, Carl E. Murray; daughter, Donna M. Murray of Wake Forest; brother, Frank Wells (Geraldine) of Rose Hill; sisters, Ruth Evans (Clarence) of Magnolia and Edith Merritt of Wallace; and many nieces and nephews.

Louise was a faithful member of Mt. Holly Baptist Church where she especially enjoyed being a longtime devoted member of the WMU. Her Christian faith in the Lord was exemplified by the life she lived.

Louise loved her family with all of her heart and created a home filled with sunshine, joy and goodness. Being an excellent cook, she always welcomed family and friends for a meal and a visit. Louise was always first to deliver a meal and a kind word when a friend had a death or sickness in their family. In addition to cooking she loved humming birds, flowers and above all caring for her beloved Carl and Donna. Her radiant smile brought gladness to everyone who knew her. Louise will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, faith and hope will live on in the lives of everyone that knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Mt. Holly Baptist Church with The Rev. David Brisson and The Rev. Horace Hawes officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Casketbearers will be Joseph Merritt, Johnny Wells, Dewitt Sheffield, Lacy Stanley, Phillip Wells, and Samuel McMillan. Honorary bearers will be Ray Horton, Clint Blanton, Clyde Swan, Raymond McCoy, Joe Bryant Newkirk and Nathan McMillan

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn- McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.

Louise loved flowers and they are welcomed to honor her. Also appreciated are memorial gifts to Mt. Holly Baptist Church, 5551 US Hwy 117, Burgaw, NC 28425.
