Lucy E. Harris Smith, 73 of Castle Hayne passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCareCenter.

She was preceded in death by her father Roscoe Harris, her mother Lydia Nobles Harris, husband Charlie N. Smith Sr., sons Roscoe D. Smith, Kevin Smith and Keith Scott Smith, grandson Nicholas Lanier, sisters Alice Clement and Mary Emmer Smith and brother Robert Harris.

Lucy is survived by her son Charlie Smith, Jr and wife Lisa, daughter Lydia P. Lanier, granddaughters Shanna Jasper, Elizabeth Mazur and husband Kris, Jessica Lanier, 4 great grandchildren Chase, Hayden, Kensi, Kohen and Mylenia, nieces and nephews.

She was a loving mother who was a caregiver to many over the years. Lucy loved working in the yard and loved life.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 18, 2014 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 19, 2014 Gethsemane Memorial Park in Morehead City.
