Lula Bell Robinson Bollinger, age 71, of Kelly died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Bladen County Hospital.

She was born March 3, 1940 in Bladen County, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Emma Lee Almond Robinson. Lula Bell was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Lee Robinson and Robert Daniel Robinson.

Lula Bell is survived by her loving family; her husband of 51 years, Grady Norwood Bollinger; sons, Norwood Dale Bollinger (Rocio) of Elizabethtown, Robert "Rocky" Levi Bollinger of Kelly, and Kenneth "Kenny" Bollinger (Dawn) of Durham; daughter, Debra B. Price (Troy) of Whiteville; grandchildren, Justin Bollinger, Hunter Bollinger, and Amanda Bell Bollinger; brother, Ennis Robinson (Lela) of Kelly; sisters, Ruth Johnson (Glenn) of VA, Faye Hinson (Billy) of Kelly, Wanda Cain (James) of Burgaw, Linda Smith (Tommy) of SC and Brenda Keegan of Leland; favorite cousin, Bertha Mae Denitson and best friend, Dorothy Brown.

Lula Bell was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. She was a wonderful homemaker, creating a home filled with joy, happiness and sunshine where everyone felt welcomed. She spent many a happy hour working in her garden and then canning the vegetables. Oh! How delectable were her fried chicken, biscuits and all that she cooked. Always ready and available to help others, she always put family and friends first. With her outgoing personality she never met a stranger. Lula Bell's joyful spirit, gentle laughter, faith in God and caring manner will always be cherished and remembered.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at Centerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Pridgen and the Rev. Ryan Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Holmes Hill Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Tony Robinson, Dean Robinson, Bryon Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Gene Byrd and Greg Cain. Honorary bearers will be Timmy McCracken, Gary McCracken, John Byrd, James Byrd and Mike Hinson.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
