Mabel Horne, age 62, went home to be with God Sunday, September 19, 2010 at UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 30, 1948 in Duplin County to the late Owen Basden and Bessie Bowden Basden.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Horne of the home, daughters, Annette Williams, Susan Guyton (Eddie) and Sharon Hall (Phillip), all of Burgaw; sons, Gary Horne (Frances) of Burgaw and Dennis Brock (Lydia) of Georgia; and sisters, Janet Rochelle (Gene) of Warsaw and Katherine Outlaw of Beautancus. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Kristi, Stacy, ElissaBeth, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Michael, Alex, Brittany, Michael, Alex, Sara, Kaylee, Samantha, Emily and Nicholas. Also left to cherish her memory are great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Adryen and Jayden.

Mabel had a great love for God, life, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, Christmas and crafting and will be remembered best for her unlimited capacity for love. Our hearts are heavy with grief. Rest in peace until we see each other again in Heaven. We love you!

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha with the Reverend Nathan Morton officiating.

Casketbearers will be Jackie Horne, Tony Horne, Ervin Horne, Chris Ezzell, Phillip Hall, Eddie Guyton and Eric Guyton.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.
