Macie Gray Hardison Hatcher, age 81, of Teachey left this life for her eternal rest on Monday, July 10, 2017.
She was born November 11, 1935 in Duplin County was the daughter of the late John Ressie and Sarah Anderson Hardison. She was also predeceased by her son, Kenneth Fussell; her daughter, Lisa Sheffield; her siblings, Raeford Hardison, Ruby Lamb, Eveline Ballard, Faye Jackson and Ressie Hardison.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 45 years, Bobby G. Hatcher of the home; children, Angie Kennedy and husband, Archie of Beulaville, Kathy Hill and husband, Charles of Rose Hill and Charlie Curtis Fussell of Magnolia; son-in-law, Gray Sheffield of Magnolia; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sister, Carol Poe and husband, John of Garland and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Macie was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister. She was a simple lady who was loved and respected by all who knew her. With her pretty smile, contagious laugh and witty personality she was pure joy to be around. Macie loved her family very much, especially Bobby who loved her in return. Being a 'one-of-a-kind' lady, she always saw the best in people. She loved to laugh and loved to make others laugh. Macie enjoyed shopping and being around people. She was a true friend to all. Macie will surely be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Corinth Baptist Church with the Reverend Phil Eakins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am, one hour prior the funeral at the church.
Burial will follow the service at Fussell Cemetery, Earl Davis Road, Teachey, NC
