Mae Ola Orr Brinson, 91, of Burgaw passed peacefully from her earthly life Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 8, 1924 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Robert Herman Orr, Sr. and Alice Benson Orr. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Hooper Brinson.

Mae Ola is survived by her loving family; daughters, Gladys B. Jordan and Elizabeth B. Key (Rex); grandchildren, Herbert Ray Jordan (Sherry), Jimmy Dean Jordan (Ann), and Beth Figgins (David); great grandchildren, Amanda Rebecca, Connor and Anna Jordan; three great great grandchildren; sister, Louise Minatel; and many extended family, all who dearly loved Mae Ola.

Mae Ola lived a long, happy and good life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who dearly loved and cared for her family. Having a way with words, Mae Ola often spoke what was on her mind. She filled her home with love, sunshine and good cooking, creating a welcomed atmosphere for all. Her sweet, sweet spirit, warm heart and gentle smile is treasured and she will be greatly missed

The family will receive friends 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church with service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Alan Sasser.
