Manlio Andrea Luconi, age 83, of Wallace left his earthly home for his eternal rest on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

He was born November 28, 1928 in Macerata, Italy; the son of the late Romeo and Clelia Morici Luconi. He was predeceased by one sister and 3 brothers.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 53 years, Diane Clayton Luconi; his loving daughters, Gianna Senerius and husband, Don of Maryland and Wallace and Franca Luconi of Wallace; grandson, 1st Lieutenant Scott Senerius and wife, Paige of Fort Hood, TX and sister, Pepina Castellani of Macerata, Italy.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Wallace with Father Alex Gonzalez officiating.

Manlio was a simple man who celebrated life every day and devoted his life to his wife, his children and to the service of others. Being a husband, father, hair stylist and owner of a salon, he had a remarkable ability to bring out the best in the lives of those he touched. He was a strong yet gentle presence who looked for and encouraged the best in others. Manlio will surely be missed but cherished memories of him will forever remain in our hearts.
