Obituary

Ivanhoe: Manly Wardell Moore went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2008.

He was born August 9, 1934 in Duplin County, the son of the late Alexander and Edna Malpass Moore. He was also predeceased by a brother, James P. Moore and sister, Inez M. Harvell.

Mr. Moore is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Temple Moore; son, Doug Moore of the home; daughter, Phyllis Hubbard of Wilmington; grandson, E. J. Hubbard and wife, Kristina of Watha: great grandchildren, Gavin and Ashlyn; sister, Betty M. Jones and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moore was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who lived by The Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. For many years he was employed with J. P. Stevens of Wallace and Ideal Cement Company. He was also a local farmer and gardener that enjoyed the outdoors and getting his hands in the soil. As was his father, Moore was a member of The Woodman Association for many years.

Manly Moore will be missed by many. Thanks to special caregivers, Jennifer McDuffie and Lynn Futrell.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service; from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Wayne Hamilton and The Rev. Rick Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Casketbearers will be Charles Lee, Charles Futrell, Thomas Simmons, Anthony Lee, Bobby Futrell, Fred Simpson, Allen Boone, and Brandon Simmons

Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, 2222 S 17th St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
