Margaret Lanier Davis, 88, of Burgaw passed peacefully from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Huntington Health Care of Burgaw.

She was born May 18, 1923 in Duplin County, the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy Pickett Lanier. Lovingly remembered is her husband, Charles Bryan Davis; sister, Mary Quinn; and nephew, Michael Dail, all who preceded Margaret in death.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Juliette Johnson of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Billy Quinn of Magnolia and special friend and caregiver, Faye F. Powell and all of Faye's family.

Margaret was a member of Burgaw United Methodist Church. For over 50 years Margaret owned and operated the Beauty Nook and Village Dress Shop. Many remember Margaret's wonderful ability to style hair when she was a beautician in Burgaw.

Margaret loved her family and especially enjoyed Faye's great grandchildren, Rowan and Gracie who often visited Margaret. Margaret was a gracious Southern lady who was always willing to help others, especially her husband and her extended family. Her joyful spirit, her strong work ethic and above all her steadfast faith will always be remembered.

Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Burgaw Cemetery with The Rev. Laura Mitchell officiating.
