She was born on May 14, 1938 in Wadesboro, NC and was the daughter of the late Earl and Charlie Belle Mills Edwards.

Surviving to cherish her memories is her loving husband of 33 years, Leon LeGrand of the home; her son, Edward Leon LeGrand of Sweden; grandchildren, London LeGrand and Christian LeGrand; sister, Edna Ponds of Wadesboro; brothers, Billy Edwards and Earl Edwards, Jr., both also of Wadesboro and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved Margaret dearly.

Margaret was a loving wife and caring mother and grandmother who had a big heart and generous spirit. She made a difference in this world by the life she lived and the lives she touched along the way. Margaret was always finding ways to help others. Early in life, she was an outstanding secretary whose secretarial skills surpassed most of those days. Margaret was also blessed with a love for the Lord as well as a love for others. She is remembered as an honorable woman with a kind heart, determined spirit, zest for life, and an enjoyable sense of humor. Margaret loved her family above all else and was loved in return.
