Margaret Stover Manley, 96, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life on Friday, February 5, 2016 at home.
She was born December 24, 1919 in Raleigh County, WV, the daughter of the late Enoch Harvey and Bertha Jane Dickens Stover. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, William "Bill" Relmer Manley; sister, Charlotte Stover and brother, Clifford Stover.
Margaret is survived by her son, Bill Manley (Kim); daughters, Sue M. Shelley (Jim) and Alice M. Croom (Allen Ray); grandchildren, Tracy Manley, Chris Manley (Brandi), Lee Johnson, Allen R. Croom II (Sarah), Jennifer Snyder, Brittany M. Weyenburg (Michael), and Brandon Manley; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Hoover; and many extended family and friends.
She was a faithful Christian and attended Bible Baptist Church.
Margaret was a wonderful and Godly wife, mother, sister and friend. She and Bill filled their home with love and instilled Christian values in their children. Her gentle smile, compassion for others and steadfast faith in the Lord is remembered. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with service beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Allen Ray Croom and The Rev. Carl Gibbs will conduct the service.
Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. Casketbearers will be Brandon Manley, Allen Croom II, Lee Johnson, Chris Manley, Michael Weyenburg, and Tom Hoover.
The family extends grateful thanks to caregiver, Shirley Rockwell and to the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
