Margaret Frances Nichols Wallace, age 96, of Greensboro and formerly of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Emeritus of Greensboro.
She was born March 4, 1917 in Durham, North Carolina, the daughter of the late James Luther and Arlene Noble Nichols. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life and devoted husband of 70 years, Cecil Fleming Wallace, Sr. on November 16, 2012; her sister, Loretta Clements and brothers, James Luther "Jimmy" Nichols, Jr. and Charles Nichols.
Mrs. Wallace attended Meredith College and later graduated from Lenior-Rhyne College. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church of Wallace where she taught children's Sunday School class for many years.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her son, Cecil F. Wallace, Jr. and wife, Maude of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina; daughter, Marlene W. Cochran and husband, Jack of Greensboro; grandchildren, Chandler Wallace, Ashley and John Cochran and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Margaret's life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, December 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Wallace with the Reverend Phil Rivenbark officiating.
Interment will follow at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery, Wallace, NC.
Casketbearers will be Kevin Wallace, J.L. Nichols, III, Chuck Nichols, Dr. Vann Nichols, Ralph Hawkins and William Downey.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, one hour prior to the funeral service at First Baptist Church of Wallace.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial gifts be given in memory of their mother to First Baptist Church of Wallace, 408 W. Main Street, Wallace, NC 28466.
