Margaret (Peggy) Lewis Clark Wootton, age 85, formerly of Southport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 27, 2015.

She was born in Chadbourn on February 2, 1930 to William and Emma Lewis. Peggy is preceded in death by her first husband of 33 years, Roland E. Clark, Sr, brother Rusty Lewis and grandson Scott Clark.

She is survived by her second husband of 23 years, Johnnie Wootton, brother Buddy Lewis, son Roland E. Clark, Jr. (Princess), Gary Clark (Robin), and Mickey Clark, daughter Emmy Oates, grandchildren Roland E. Clark, III (Carla), Criss Walls (Woody), Lee Clark (Leigh Ann), Megan Blair (Jonathan), Clark Oates and Philip Oates, step grandchildren David Drakos and Daniel Spencer (Amy), great grandchildren Alicia Clark, Adrian Walls, Jarrett Walls, Jeremy Walls and Whitney Walls, step great grandchildren Payton Drakos, Madison Spencer and Robby Spencer.

Peggy was a longtime member of Southport Baptist Church, a Sunday School Teacher and choir member. She retired from Brunswick County Register of Deeds.

Not only was Peggy a beloved wife, wonderful Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, but a loving friend to all who knew her. She was a very kind and gentle lady with a heart always ready to show the love of Christ within her.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington. A graveside service will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Reverend Gene Tomlinson officiating.

The family would like to thank her physician of many years, Dr. Stanley Cutler and his wife Gerri.
