Marianne Krueger Arthur

Marianne Krueger Arthur, 70, of Burlington and formerly of Rocky Point died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.

She was born July 15, 1940 in Hamburg, Germany and was the daughter of the late Otto Peter Hellmut and Berta Marie Bellstedt Krueger. Marianne was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Arthur in 2006.

Marianne is survived by her daughters, Juanita M. Meadows of Burlington, Joanne C. Arthur of Hamburg, Germany and Michele E. Freiberg (William) of Ft. Lee, VA; grandchildren, Robert James Arthur, John Harvey Meadows II, Sydney N. Freiberg and Caroline M. Arthur; and sisters, Ilse Schuman and Hildegard Frielingsdorf both of Hamburg, Germany.

Marianne loved her family above all else and showed it in so many ways. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She was a great sports fan and enjoyed nothing better than cheering for her team while watching a game on TV or at the ball field. Marianne had a great sense of humor and zest for life. Cherished memories of Marianne will forever remain in our hearts.

Graveside memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with the Rev. Dr. Ray Mendenhall officiating.
