Marie Ann Martin Eury, age 85 of Leland and formerly of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center.

She was born April 3, 1926 in Franklin County and was the daughter of the late Otis and Ivy Pierce Martin. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe Clay Eury, Jr.; son, Jimmy Willis Eury, Sr. and daughters, Ivy Gail Eury and Tina Marie Eury.

Mrs. Eury is survived by her loving children, Evelyn Smith Blair and husband, Jack of Wilmington, Danny Clay Eury and wife, Peggy of Harrells and Mary Zarco and husband, Tony of Leland; grandchildren, James Willis Eury, Jr., Kimberly Price, Emily Eury, Joey Smith, Jamie Blair, Melissa Lynn Lopez, Michael Claude Evans, Kelly Loretta James, Carla Williams and Karen Christy Zarco; 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 24, 2011, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC.

Casketbearers will be Joey Smith, Maurice Williams, Ethan James, Austin Evans, Shawn Pickett and Chris Pickett.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Friday, one hour prior the funeral service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Danny and Peggy Eury.

Marie was a devoted wife and caring mother who loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was always there for those she loved and even through her illness Marie always had a smile on her face to greet you and let you know everything was alright. Being strong and courageous, Marie was yet a gentle woman who brought out the good in all those who were near and dear to her. Marie will be greatly missed but cherished memories of her will remain in our hearts forever.
