Marilyn Raynor Johnson Mitchell

Marilyn Raynor Johnson Mitchell, age 73, of Mount Olive and formerly of Wallace, NC left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from ECU Health in Greenville.

She was born on November 2, 1952, in Duplin County, NC; the daughter of Jeanette Mobley Raynor of Wallace and the late Benjamin “Ben” Raynor.

Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband Jimmy Mitchell of the home; her son Johnny Johnson and wife Cindy of Magnolia; her daughter Jennifer Malpass and husband Steven of Magnolia; grandsons Zack Johnson and Johnathon Williford; granddaughter Katleen Williford; 1 great grandson; 1 great granddaughter; 4 sisters Joanne Willis of Wallace, Connie Johnson of Wallace, Pansy Raynor of Wallace, Dorothy Brown of Beulaville; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Marilyn dearly.

Marilyn was a loving wife and caring daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a simple lady who enjoyed the simple things of life. She loved life and lived it to its fullest. Marilyn will surely be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Corinth Baptist Church, 1107 Cornwallis Rd, Teachey, NC 28464 with Pastor Phil Eakins officiating.
