Marjorie Helen
Turner
Mar 3, 1940 — Apr 12, 2014
Marjorie "Margie" Helen Turner, 74, of Burgaw was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior and her son, Keith on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
She was born March 3, 1940 in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late Thomas Charles and Rachel Cornelia Fisher McLaurin.
She was a faithful and loving wife to her husband, Ellis J. Turner for 55 years and was so very proud of her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Elaine and Jim Matthews of Rose Hill, Jan and Kevin Squires of Delco and Rebecca Lynne and Tony Custer of Rocky Mount, VA. She adored her grandchildren, Adam Blackmon, Alicia Sutton, Lydia, David, Joanna, Sarah and Joseph Custer. Marjorie is also survived by her brothers, T.C McLaurin, Jr. (Glynda), Jesse McLaurin (Edith) and Russell McLaurin (Barbara); sisters, Becky Simmons, (Odis) and Myrtle Adams (Tommy); and many extended family.
Not only was Marjorie a wonderful wife, mama, granny, sister and friend, she was a faithful steward of her Christian faith. Marjorie taught their children, grandchildren and church family children the Bible and the importance of living by Christian principals. She worked unceasingly in her church, Watha Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Marjorie was a dedicated homemaker, who loved cooking home cooked meals for family. Marjorie says to us today, "Remember me not with tears of sorrow, for my destiny is complete and I am pain free and smiling." She has left to us gifts of courage, faith, love and compassion which is and will always be Marjorie's legacy.
