Mark Allen Gray, 84 of Raeford and formerly of Wilmington died Friday, March 12, 2010 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born October 4, 1925 in Willow Spring and was the son of the late Eddie Marvin and Estelle Dove Gray. Also remembered are his children, Patricia Ann Gray, Stephen Allen Gray and Mark Allen Gray, Jr.

Surviving are his loving family; his wife of 61 years, Eula Davis Gray; grandchildren, Rose Clark, Stephanie DiBartolomeo, Francis Yarbough and Christine Yarbough-Watkins; six great grandchildren; sister, Marie Estelle Spencer of Fuquay-Varina; sister-in-law, Doris Costin of Raeford; and several nieces and nephews including Robert Costin.

Mr. Gray was retired from Kenan Transport after 20 years of service. He honorably served his country in the US Army.

Mark was a devoted husband and loving daddy, granddaddy, great granddaddy, brother and friend. He was a people person who loved to laugh, joke and make everyone around him feel happy. He enjoyed the simple things in life and would always say his family was his greatest joy and his purpose in life. Cherished memories of Mark will forever remain in our hearts.

Graveside funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington with Pastor Ray Costin officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Doris Costin in Raeford.
